Bad Practice
This image shows an example of an unsafe work practice.
Summary Statement
Incorrectly worn safety equipment can cost you your life. All workers exposed to the risks of moving roadway traffic or construction equipment should wear approved high-visibility safety apparel.
Do not wear baseball caps underneath your hard hat. Hard hats are engineered to keep a designed distance between the hard hat shell and your head. In addition, a baseball cap may contain metal parts that could alter the dielectric (nonconducting) properties of the hard hat. Most manufacturers produce head coverings e.g. head warmers.
