In order to be effective, hard hats must be worn correctly. Hard hats are engineered to keep a designed distance between the hard hat shell and your head. Most manufacturers produce head coverings e.g. head warmers. All workers potentially exposed to the roadway traffic or construction equipment should wear approved high-visibility safety apparel.
