Summary Statement
Ladder must be tied off to prevent sidewards movement and extended so that the top rails lay evenly and securely on a flat firm surface (ladder rails should extend above the header).
Maintain three points of contact while descending a ladder. Sharp objects such as knife in back pocket should be carried in a safe manner.
Workers should be provided proper respiratory protection.
