2003

In April 2003, OSHA began distributing this radio announcement for Spanish speaking employers in the U.S.

FOREMAN (concerned, calls out)
Mr. Sanchez.
BOSS
Oh, hey Jose, How are you doing?
FOREMAN
Oh I'm OK. Did you hear about the accident?
BOSS
Yeah, I called the owner when I heard about it. They had a guy take a bad fall. He wasn't wearing a safety harness.
FOREMAN
I'd like to call a meeting of our guys to let them know how it happened - kind of reinforce the whole idea of wearing a harness.
BOSS
That's a good idea, Jose. You know, accidents are bad for everyone - our workers, our business, our community.
ANNOUNCER
Workplace safety is everyone's business. For more information, contact OSHA at 1-800-321-OSHA or log onto www.osha.gov .
