Ladder should be tied off to prevent sideways movement. Top rails should rest evenly and securely against a flat, firm surface. Awkward, dangerous work posture, a ladder may not be the appropriate work platform for this operation.
Sneakers are not designed to be used in a work environment. The worker does not have eye protection and he is using the wrong type of respiratory protection. The employer is responsible for determining the correct level of respiratory protection, based on an assessment of worker exposure levels.
